Images showing the mistreatment of Super Eagles players at a Libya airport have surfaced online.

The team had traveled to Libya for the second leg of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after securing a 1-0 victory in Uyo last week.

However, upon arrival, they were detained by Libyan authorities at the Al Abaq Airport, preventing them from continuing to their destination.

For over 15 hours, the Super Eagles squad, along with NFF officials, were stranded without any arrangements for transportation.

Originally scheduled to land in Benghazi, their flight was rerouted to Al Abaq, located two hours away from their intended destination.

William Troost-Ekong shared images on X, revealing how the team spent the night at the airport.

Most of the players were forced to sleep in uncomfortable spaces, while some officials attempted to rest on airport chairs.

Despite the long wait, no Libyan representatives had come forward to assist the Nigerian team.
