Gombe govt to construct 200 modern Tsangaya schools

2 min read

The Gombe State Government has awarded contracts for the construction of 200 modernised Tsangaya schools across the state.

The development is an effort by the government to modernise the Almajiri system of education and address the challenges being faced by the Almajiri boys and their teachers.

The disclosure was made by the State Chairman of a group known as ‘Inuwa Action Group’, Hon. Saleh Ahmad Danmasani while speaking to newsmen in Gombe.

Saleh Ahmed Danmadani maintained that the State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, is the first governor in the history of the state to accord the Tsangaya system of education such needed attention.

While commenting on the insinuations that the governor does not consider indigenous and home-based contractors in the bid for contracts, Saleh Ahmed Danmasani said that such claims are far from the truth.

According to him, “The governor has recently awarded nine major contracts to Gombe state citizens, of whom I’m among, each amounting to hundreds of millions of naira.”.

While challenging the contractors and politicians over their silence on the governor’s gestures and legacies, he assured the people of the state that the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration would continue on its mission of providing development projects across the state.

The APC stalwart described Governor Inuwa’s Yahaya victory at the Supreme Court as a victory for democracy and an affirmation of the collective wish of the people of the state.
