The Executives of the Afe Babalola University Alumni Association led by the Association’s President, Dr Ilugbusi Segun, have felicitated with a Trustee of the Association, Mrs Folashade Alli, on her swearing-in as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The third Vice President of the Association on University Relations, Mrs Cordelia Ilori, expressed the joy of the Association on the nomination of Mrs Folashade Alli, a Trustee of the Association and daughter of the Founder of Afe Babalola University, who has always been passionate about the growth of the Association.
“Her works towards the development of young people in Nigeria and the Legal Profession in particular has been spectacular for years now and many Nigerians rightly believe her elevation is an addition to the Legal Profession and proof that God’s time is the right time. And we are very proud to be associated with her,” Mrs Ilori stated.
The Executives underscored the giant strides of the Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) and Legal Luminary, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, for never letting the management and the institution down, lauding the efforts of the Founder in always maintaining high quality standards at the citadel of learning.
Speaking on the activities of the Association, the Treasurer, Miss Olowookere Kehinde, stated that the Alumni Association most recently held its Annual Alumni Day on October 19, 2023, where it played host to Hon. Olusegun Segun Dada, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media.
The Association emphasised the place of Alumni Associations in changing, fostering and uniting the destinies of people.
The President and the Executives mulled the idea of a 10-year strategic plan for the Association, alongside its Endowment Fund and other initiatives the Association was working on.
The Association also recently presented awards to its new Honorary members which included His Royal Highness, Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad 1, CFR, JSC retd, FCI. Arb, FCIM, FHSN, the 17th Emir Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adunola Samson, Managing Director of BOVAS and Company Limited, and Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCON, CFR, two-term Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
The Excecutives were optimistic of charting a course for a formidable Association its members and the general public will be proud of.
